Thanks for clarifying your question. With CC6400 we recommend force drying at 60°C object temperature or by using an Infra Red curing unit. Please refer to the TDS for additional information sdstds.cromax.com/Doc/TDS/EN/EN%20CC6400.pdf

Hi, thanks for getting in touch. There are a number of clearcoats that are suitable with Cromax Pro and it really depends upon your needs. We offer clearcoats ranging from traditional 2 coat application through to energy saving products that can be applied in 1.5 coats for example. Please refer to our TDS's sheets or our website for further information on our products. Alternatively if you descibe your requirements, conditions and location I can try to advise.

Hi this clearcoat like all of our clears is UV resistant. For it to be applied on plastic substrates in the course of vehicle refinishing the addition of an Elastic Additive is required in the clearcoat. The blender is applied to the blend panel or area before aplication of the basecoat colour. It helps to produce a smooth even transition between the original paint and the newly applied refinish materials. Theoretically, it could be possible but the most efficient and economical method is to increase the air movement over the panel with a slightly elevated temperature, i.e. using an inbuilt air blowing system. When using any method that increases substrate temperature a period of cooling down must be allowed to prevent problems with clearcoat adhesion.

This repair was carried out using Cromax Pro Waterborne Basecoat.

After flashing the basecoat off for 6-8 mnutes it was left a further 5 minutes before sanding just to be safe.

Hi, thanks for taking the time to get in touch. In normal circumstances I would take a 1.2 set up. If conditions are more challenging i.e. you may want to change to a 1.3 but be careful as this could lead to over application of the effect layer which of course you need to avoid.

Thanks for watching our videos. I guess you comment refers to the basecoat appearance in the semi wet condition, which started already to flash off at this point. As you can see after flash off the basecoat looks very uniform acroos the complete side of the car and in particular, where the blends have been carried out.

We would not advise this procedure, as any solvent can lead to irreparable damages to the spectro. In addition to that we have to point out that the use of cleaners to pretend as a clearcoat might change the perception and results of the spectro reading. With our new function in Chromaweb, matt finishes can now also be measured by the spectro. Just activate the matt search button in the software.

Hi, no, there was no blender added to the basecoat. The blender is sprayed first and used as a wet bed into which you blend the colour.

Hi, thanks for the question and positive comments. I actually prefer to use a foam backed abrasive such as Audurra Fine Finishing Discs, Mirka Abralon or 3M Hookit Flexible Abrasive Foam disc as they give a more consistent cut and uniform finish. On modern OEM clears scotchbrite can sometmes lead to deeper scratches which are still visible after application of the refinish clear.

Hi, thanks for the question. There are a number of clears within the Cromax portfolio that would suit your requirements such as CC6400, designed to be applied in 2 single coats with intermediate flash off or CC6600 which can be applied in either 1.5 coats in a continuous process or 2 coats with intermediate flash off depending upon your preference. Before choosing though I would suggest you check the TDS of each clear to ensure compatability with the basecoat you are using.
